2016 Planète Française Monthly #1-March

Welcome to the PF Summer Camp Blog where you will find the latest and greatest updates from now until the start of our 2016 camp season. March is indeed here, but please don’t panic! We still have 4 months and spaces available in all 6 of our exciting and unique themed weeks. J  As we prepare for new SMILES and summer memories, it is nice to think of the past.  Our school locations, special guests, organic food donors, counselors, parents and campers were simply the BEST!   We are grateful to you all for making this camp amazing.  As we grow from our very humble roots, with one classroom at Earl Haig Jr. P.S., we review the past in order to make the present even better.  At Planète Française, we continuously refine and develop ways to ensure that the 2016 camp season is the best one yet.  WE value your input – ideas, critiques and compliments.  We are a community based camp. We encourage parent engagement and we work closely with local talent and businesses.  Our commitment to connect to each and every camper is unwavering.  We strive to make every Camper feel welcome, safe and confident with camp life and their French proficiency…and, we sure try to make their days full of fun and adventure! Please join us this summer at Planète Française.

Mille Merci, Wanda Srdoc – Founder and Director, PF

It’s true! Planète Française is growing better each season because of input from you!

ENHANCEMENTS to French Literacy – Our affordable After-Camp Reading Club now includes support for writing development. We have a library full of options for every level and we encourage campers to bring their favorite books in as well.

SPECIAL RAW FOOD COOKING WEEK – Green-Food Planet is going to the next level of learning and living clean, green and delicious. Campers attending this camp will cook from recipes using raw food ingredients which are Tasty, Local and Green. Plus, we will all have the privilege of meeting a Celebrity Food Network Chef, who embraces our camp philosophy of Healthy Minds = Healthy Bodies = Healthy Planet! We will end our week choosing the “TOP CHEF” PLANETE FRANCAISE, in a fun and fiercely green cook-off. Space is limited. We will be running this camp at our main campus –Earl Haig Jr. P.S. on August 8-12.

ORGANIC Afternoon and After-camp SNACKS – Our thanks goes out to the LOCAL community who support our Tasty Local Green (TLG) initiative. TLG teaches campers to explore healthier ways to eat and live. Through our daily snack program we sprinkle a little TLG on their plates.

Rowe Farms Leslieville is our main camp supporter. They provide many of the delicious and healthy snacks throughout the summer. We are thrilled and thankful for their continued support. Snack time proves to be a highlight at Planète Française!

The BIG CARROT staff celebrates Green-Food Planet with special treats and a warm welcome. We look forward to dropping in again this summer for delicious tasty treats and a store and roof-top garden tour. The PURPLE PEPPER was the star attraction last summer!
